Adrian began his insurance career with E W Payne in 1974 on the Treaty Claims side. Wishing to broaden his horizons, he joined a small multi-line Lloyd’s Broker, Bryant and Shaw, that became Derek Bryant Plc. During a period of some 8 years he developed the North American account with a particular emphasis on Fine Arts and Specie. Thereafter, seeking to broaden his base, he joined Republic Hogg Robinson in New York handling retail Art and Jewellers Block business, all lines for Museum, Galleries, Auction Houses, Private Collectors, Jewellery, Manufacturers, Wholesale and Retail operations.
Upon his return to the UK, he briefly joined the Minet Group, quickly thereafter forming a new company Crowley Colosso, which became Lloyd’s Brokers in 1989. When he joined Lowndes Lambert by acquisition in December 1992, his specialities had expanded into the Entertainment and traditional Property/Casualty sectors. Since joining the Group he has been responsible for a variety of innovative insurance programme designs, including the creation of the Facilities Group.
